Some people are born different.
Be it thoughts, actions, or even looks.
Even though it is not our fault,
We are ridiculed. And shunned.
And left, all alone.

But we must stand strong,
Do whatever we need to shine,
No matter your technique.
Makeup, clothing, surroundings, medicine,
Anything, it is there for you.

You must stand you ground
In the war going on in your body.
Do not give in.
Show people how beautiful you can be,
Ignore their words that harm you.

I know how hard it can be,
Parents aren't exactly supportive
When you go against everything.
Their goals for your life;
Marriages, jobs, homes, all of it.

It can be hard, you are allowed to cry,
No matter what people say.
They don't understand that
Getting up in the morning
Is a chore. Every single day.

So do not listen to their words.
Find things that make you strong.
Things that make you smile,
Even in the darkest of times.
You are perfect, I promise.

Even if you don't believe me,
There will be someone who tells you
'Do not change who you are.
Do not change to fit in.
Stand out. Be yourself.'

You are a diamond.
You are different to the sea
Of never ending coal.
There are others like you somewhere.
You can find them, if you try.
